Sri Bintang Education Becomes First Online School in Malaysia to Launch AI-Integrated Curriculum

JOHOR BAHRU – In a bold step towards future-ready education, Sri Bintang Education, one of Malaysia’s leading online international schools, has announced the official rollout of its AI-Integrated Curriculum, making it the first of its kind in the country to systematically embed artificial intelligence into its academic framework across all year levels.
The curriculum, which covers students from Year 1 through Year 9, is designed to equip learners with the mindset, skills, and tools necessary to thrive in a world increasingly shaped by AI technologies. Starting from this academic year (2025/2026), students will engage in age-appropriate AI-themed activities integrated into core subjects like Mathematics, Science, English, and ICT — with cross-curricular links to subjects such as Geography, Art, and even Character Education.
“This is not a futuristic vision — it’s already happening,” said Sherine Al-Yahya, Director of Education at Sri Bintang. “We believe it’s not enough to just talk about AI. We must teach with it, think with it, and empower students to use it responsibly.”
Sri Bintang’s programme goes beyond digital exposure. It includes training for teachers, student activities aligned with real-world AI applications, and an evolving curriculum that is reviewed termly to stay ahead of global trends. As an online institution, the school is uniquely positioned to update and deploy curriculum changes swiftly, responding to emerging technologies and feedback in real time.
The AI curriculum will roll out in phases, beginning with teacher onboarding in June 2025, followed by integration in STEAM-based projects in July. By January 2026, full-scale subject integration will commence, with student assessments incorporating AI tools and rubrics. A comprehensive review and curriculum update is scheduled by mid-2026.
